Beverly Larson Thompson

Dear GHS Alumni and Friends:  Thank you for your countless emails, cards, flowers and phone calls since my Son Vance passed away.  Your outpouring has truly been overwhelming and I am so grateful for all of your support.

After being diagnosed with Stage Four Adrenal Cancer in late June of this year, my son Vance Thompson lost his courageous fight for life and died December 23rd, surrounded by family and lifelong friends.

Our life was spent in Newport Beach where he and his sister Marne attended school then went on to graduate from USC, founded his own Financial Planning Corporation in Orange County, was the elected President for the last four years of the Orange County Chapter of Alumni for the USC Marshall School of Business also serving on their Alumni National Board and as the past president of the Newport Beach – Corona del Mar Kiwanis Club and many other political and philanthropic organizations.

His wonderful wife Jennifer and loving soul mate for over two decades never left his side from the moment he was diagnosed, his ten year old daughter Melia was the apple of his eye and I cannot imagine a better or more proud loving Daddy than Vance.

Marne spent countless loving hours at her brother Vance’s side during the months of his ongoing cancer battle along with her dear husband Michael and children Julian and Emily.

Vance was the son a parent only dreams of.  Loving, kind, caring and always full of laughter.   He was a true Gift to me.  I do not mourn him I Celebrate his life and keep the picture in my mind of his smile and hear the words he always opened a phone conversation with:  I love you Mom… how is your day going?

A family service is being held for him next week with a Celebration of Life Service in the near future.  I will keep you
posted.

Again, I thank all of you for your prayers, kindness and loving thoughts.

Beverly
